Two sources (Pause & Play and Top Hits Online) have stated that the album was supposed to be released in November 2005. However, the rumour turned to be incorrect, depending on source (Ultimate-Guitar.com), but it has been confirmed by Jerry Finn that next single will be called "Pass me by" for the album. This is new information from Wikipedia. It used to say Forbidden Love until recently. 09.26.05 - Next To You On The Radio If you haven‘t heard by now, The Offspring included their cover of “Next To You,” originally by The Police, as a unlisted final track on the US version of Greatest Hits album. It seems that radio stations are now picking up on the song, hearing about it from fans and playing it on the air. So thanks to you guys requesting it, keep it up. 09.26.05 - The Offspring To Play BlizzCon Game Festival The Offspring will headline the closing-night concert at the BlizzCon computer/video game festival on October 29 at the Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. Well, I got more of the site up. I use Mozilla Firefox as my web browser and the site looks fine when I test it, but I realized that it looks messed up on Internet Explorer. Hopefully it's fixed now, let me know if there is some problems still. Also I got a new email address. jake@jakesoffspring.com. No new news on offspring.com, but I was told that Noodles said in an interview that they are heading into the studio in early 2006 and hope to get the record out by spring! Also they still have 2 more records left on their contract with Columbia Records. That's all the news for now, cya. 09.20.05 - More Site News! There are alot more pages up now, but full of mistakes. If you spot some mistakes, let me know. I am fixing the pages tonight, and adding some more. Soon, there will be some flash in the site, just for some kool looks. It will be produced by Jerry Fin (Can't Repeat) and is yet to be given a title publicly. Guitarist Noodles told Billboard.com the new CD is "kind of all across the board," explaining that it carries songs with a punk edge, as well as "some tongue-in-cheek, humorous, more fun stuff." He said the band have five or six songs ready and he isn't sure whether or not they will be on the as-yet-untitled album. I will try my best to get the latest info, but it is hard to keep on top of everything, so if you would like to help out, let me know. 08.17.05 - Spain Show Added, Helsinki Fan Contest Just Added! – The Offspring will perform September 21 in Oviedo, Spain at Complejo Deportivo Municipal de San Lazaro. We‘re on the Warped tour right now in Florida, but I had to take a minute to post something, cause we‘re super stoked about this DVD! Basically, this DVD is like our Greatest Hits CD, but all the videos, and a lot of extra stuff too. It‘s a compilation of all the music videos we‘ve done. There‘s 17 of them on this DVD, so check out this track listing: 1) Can‘t Repeat 2) Come Out And Play 3) Self Esteem 4) Gotta Get Away 5) All I Want 6) Gone Away 7) The Meaning of Life 8) I Choose 9) Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) 10) Why Don‘t You Get A Job? 11) The Kids Aren‘t Alright 12) She‘s Got Issues 13) Original Prankster 14) Want You Bad 15) Defy You 16) Hit That 17) (Can‘t Get My) Head Around You I know, that‘s a lot of videos. I can‘t believe we‘ve done them all myself. But of course, we‘ve put tons of extra stuff on the DVD, because, well, that‘s just the kind of guys we are. We‘re givers. So jeez, where do I start? Well, for one, we‘ve put two unreleased videos on the DVD. These are videos for Da Hui, and another one for the song Cool To Hate. These are music videos that we did ourselves, sort of guerrilla style, if you know what I mean. We even did a little documentary about the making of Da Hui, and we put that on too. But that‘s not all! I know, I feel like an infomercial right but there‘s a lot of really cool stuff on this DVD that I want you guys to know about. Like, there are also 11 live songs of us in concert on here that we‘ve included, just because. Some of them were recorded at a TV show taping, and the others are from a show in Las Vegas we did a couple years back. So already, you‘re up to like 30 songs on this DVD. And yes, of course there‘s more. You‘ll find a little interview where we caught up with Guy Cohen, the actor who was the Pretty Fly guy in our video. And, we‘ve included storyboards of some of our videos for you guys to check out. There‘s also audio commentary on all our videos on the DVD. That‘s where you watch the video, and instead of hearing the music with it, the music volume is really low and you hear me and Noodles talking about the video – just whatever was going on at the time, what the video was about, all the little trivia stuff that rabid fans like you need to know. And, if you look around, you might even be able to find some hidden stuff laying around somewhere… So that‘s it. It‘s been really cool putting this DVD together, getting all the videos in one place that you couldn‘t buy anywhere before, and putting all the extra stuff on the DVD that I think makes it something sort of special. So what are you waiting for? Dexter. - — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — DVD now available in The Offspring store 08.03.05 - Dexter And Noodles On Fuse Today Tune in for a special Warped Wednesday edition of the Fuse program “Steven‘s Untitled Rock Show” today, Wednesday August 3 at 4pm & 10pm EST. In this second version, there are different scenes with people in diners, in the streat, at parties, and at graduations. Maybe the rumors from before about them re-shooting the video were correct. Hopefully I will have some new information on this soon... 06.22.05 - I'm Glad There Are Professionals Working At Amazon.com According to Amazon.com, The Offspring have put out a Greatest Hits album, including their new song "Can't Sleep" followed by many famous songs including "retty Fly (For A White Guy)". I can hardly wait to hear these songs! Click Here to go to the page. 06.21.05 - Greeting From Dexter Hey there, everyone. Well today is the day that our Greatest Hits record comes out and I'm super stoked about it. In fact I'm so stoked that I just had to send you all a message giving you all the lowdown on everything that's on it, cause it's a lot! First off, I can't believe we even have a Greatest Hits record coming out at all. It seems like we just started putting out records yesterday and yet here we are, seven records deep! We've been lucky enough to have a lot of songs from each record that people have heard on the radio, or MTV, or from seeing us live on tour, or whatnot. So about a year ago we decided, what the hell? We've got enough singles to put out a Greatest Hits record, so why not do it? Actually, that's one of the things that folks say when they see us live, is "Damn, I didn't know you guys had so many songs I knew!" Yes, they really say damn. So we're proud to put this record out, cause it's not like just a couple songs you know and then a bunch of songs we'd like you to get to know, it's pretty solid. Check out the sequence on this CD: 1) Can't Repeat 2) Come Out and Play (Keep 'em Separated) 3) Self Esteem 4) Gotta Get Away 5) All I Want 6) Gone Away 7) Pretty Fly 8) Why Don?t You Get A Job? 9) The Kids Aren?t Alright 10) Original Prankster 11) Want You Bad 12) Defy You 13) Hit That 14) (Can't Get My) Head Around You So there you go. Fourteen songs you probably know. And, I'm not saying, but if I was saying, I'd say that you just might find something extra on the CD too. Like songwise. But I'm not saying. But that's not all! I know, I feel like a Ronco commercial right now, but I want to make sure everyone knows what's up with this record, cause it's pretty cool. The new thing right now is DualDisc. That's where you put out a CD which is just a regular old CD on one side, but if you flip it over, the other side is a DVD. Just put it in your DVD player and bam, it's like you got two things. So we're also putting Greatest Hits out as a DualDisc. Well, we wanted to do something kind of special for you guys out there buying this record, cause we know some of you already have a lot of these songs. So Noodles and I decided to sit down one day on camera with acoustic guitars and just sit around, telling our stories about a lot of these songs, where they came from, what was going on with us at the time, you know. Like a fireplace chat with Noodles and Dexter. It was actually a lot of fun and I think people will dig hearing some of the weird stories about how our songs were written. After that, just for shits and giggles, Noodles and I decided to play a song on acoustic guitars. We did a song called Dirty Magic, which is one of our favorite songs off of a record we did called Ignition. It sounds cool doing it acoustic style, and we thought it would be a nice touch on the DVD side. Well there it is. So this CD not only has the Greatest Hits, plus our new single Can?t Repeat, but with the DualDisc, it's also got a DVD side that has story time with me and Noodles and an acoustic version of Dirty Magic. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, if you have a surround sound system on your DVD player you can play the whole DualDisc in 5.1 surround sound, which is all crazy and really cool sounding. Man, that's a lot of stuff. We should be selling this thing for like 50 bucks! No, just kidding. We're just proud to be putting this thing out and we hope you guys dig it. And it's out today, so pick it up, dudes. Late, Dexter 06.20.05 - Greatest Hits Release Dates Greatest Hits will be finally released in stores in USA and Canada TOMORROW, Tuesday, June 21. Check It Out Here. Also on their email about the record, the spell videos "viideos". Thats not good for a major record label. 06.09.05 - Can't Repeat Name Change? I recieved an email from Columbia Record's Offspring mailing list, and it talked about the release and stuff. Nothing out of the ordinary, until it mentions the single Can't Repeat. They keep calling it Can't Repeat (Life Goes On). This is the only time I have heard it being used. No other sites selling the album have posted that name and even before on the official site, they only called it Can't Repeat. Why all of a sudden a name change? Also the email had a spelling mistake: they used viideos instead of videos, but thats not important. 06.09.05 - Scans of Dexter In AlternitivePress Magizine I picked a few copies of AP mag with Dexter in it. There is a lengthy interview with some people from bands that are going to be in the Vans Warped Tour '05. Dexter has some cool stuff to say and it's worth buying. So, I finally put up the scans of Dexter in AlternitivePress Magizine. There are 8 pages, the cover, and an ad for Punk-O-Rama 10. They are large files. You can have them, but if you put them on a site, please credit me. Thanks. 06.09.05 - Greatest Hits Media Player Check out the new Greatest Hits media player featuring a sneak preview of the DualDisc interview with Dexter and Noodles, Greatest Hits themed wallpaper and buddy icon and more. 06.09.05 - DVD Release Date Change The Complete Music Video Collection DVD release date has been moved – it will now be in stores Tuesday, July 19. 06.08.05 - Some New Cool Info on the Greatest Hits Tracklist According the official Japanese Sony Music Offspring site, Next To You will be on the album. Also, all the tracks have the words (album version) beside them, except Da Hui. That leads me to believe that this could be a new or different version of Da Hui, either that or they messed up. When you listen to the audio sample, it's the same song as on Splinter, but, they probely just took the sample from Splinter, because they have no samples for the other new songs (Can't Repeat, Next To You). Another thing is that they say that Next To You is the album version, but unless I'm retarded, I don't think it has every been on an album. In their news section, it vaguely talks about a bonus track. I translated the page using this site. The info should be official since it is Sony Music's official Japanese Offspring Site. Click HERE to go to the site. Click HERE to go directly to the Greatest Hits Page. 06.07.05 - Warped '05 Soundtrack In Stores Today The 2005 Warped Compilation on SideOneDummy Records hits stores today. The 2 CD set features tracks from 50 bands on this year‘s Warped Tour including The Offspring‘s ”Beheaded. 06.06.05 - "Can't Repeat" On Fuse Look for the new video for “Can‘t Repeat” this week on Fuse. It will be featured on Oven Fresh, Fuse‘s new music show where viewers vote on new videos. Visit fuse.tv to cast your vote. 06.04.05 - Offspring.com: Grey for Greatest Hits Offspring.com has completly changed the site from RED to GREY . I'm assuming that it has something to do with the Greatest Hits release, because of the colours of the cover of the CD and DVD . I think it looks cool and it's a nice change. They have also put up a new picture in the corner, cool. I first noticed the change a few days ago when I saw a few buttons in the music section turn from red to grey, and then, today, the whole site changed. Also, Columbia Records has put up a new site for The Offspring HERE 06.03.05 - Greatest Hits Pre-Order Details The official Offspring Greatest Hits pre-order store is now up and ready to take your order in advance of the June 21 in store date. Both the DualDisc and standard CD versions of the album are available along with special combos including an exclusive new T-shirt and a 14 sticker pack. Optional in-store date delivery is also available. While supplies last, anyone that orders the T-shirt combo will also get the Club Me CD free, this is the exclusive fan club only CD from the late ‘90s, now out of print. Includes “I Got A Right“ (Iggy Pop cover), “D.U.I.“ (rare track) and “Smash It Up” (The Damned cover). Information on the Complete Music Video Collection DVD pre-order will be announced soon. Also, Offspring.com has pre-order flash object at the top of the page. You can view it HERE . Orange County's finest punk rock merchants, The Offspring, have recorded a brand new track - 'Can't Repeat' - for their upcoming Greatest Hits collection set for release next month. Recorded back in March while the band were in the studio with producer Jerry Finn laying down some new material, 'Can't Repeat' will be the first new Offspring music since 2003's 'Splinter' and hits Australian radio next week. Since then, the band haven't missed a beat, delivering one hit-loaded record after another that has seen them go on to sell millions upon millions of albums worldwide and rack up countless awards. This amazing collection charts their rise to the top of the punk rock stack, from their breakthrough tracks on Epitaph Records 'Come Out And Play (Keep 'Em Separated)' and 'Self Esteem' through to their more recent singles with Sony Music 'Hit That' and '(Can't Get My) Head Around You.'... yup, it's going to be huge! Arcticle: OFFSPRING: Noodles Stoked for Warped Offspring guitarist Noodles tells us he's "stoked" that the band is finally getting to do the Warped Tour. Although they've never played one before, he says, he's usually been able to catch a Warped show every year except when the Offspring's been on the road at the same time. He always looks forward to the chance to catch "somebody up-and-coming that you know in a few years is going to be breaking down doors." The Warped Tour kicks off June 17th in Columbus, Ohio. -- Source 05.13.05 - Columbia Records Set to Release The Offspring's Greatest Hits Source: Columbia Records May 11, 2005, 07:38 The Offspring's Complete Music Video Collection to be Released Tuesday, July 5 The Offspring Gear up for 2005 Warped Tour Columbia Records is ready to release The Offspring's Greatest Hits, the first-ever career-spanning collection of bona fide hits from Orange County's legendary multi-platinum punk rock band, on Tuesday, June 21. One of the few rock bands in the world to achieve ongoing international platinum status while maintaining credibility, viability and enormous popularity with the oft-times fickle alt-rock audience, The Offspring began the group's string of international platinum album hits with 1994's Smash (Epitaph), which has sold more than 11 million copies across the globe. The band released Ixnay On The Hombre, its first platter for Columbia Records, in February 1997, following it up with the global sensation Americana, which has also sold more than 11 million copies worldwide since its release in November 1998. The band's singles -- including "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)," "Self Esteem," "Original Prankster," "Hit That" and many others -- have dominated Alternative, Rock and Pop radio formats, helping to restore Rock to the nation's radio airwaves and video playlists. From 1994's Smash through 2003's Splinter, the Offspring have sold more than 32 million albums worldwide. -- Source 05.13.05 - IGN Music Reports About The Offspring's Greatest Hits Seminal SoCal punkers set to release album and DVD.
