12.07.01 - "Defy You" video to debut on MTV! The Offspring‘s new video for the song “Defy You” will debut on MTV Saturday, December 8 in the 2 o‘ clock hour (EST & PST). The song will be on the upcomi ng soundtrack for the movie Orange County which will debut in theatres in early January. The soundtrack will be released on December 18 and will feature original tracks by The Offspring, the Foo Fighters, Cake, and others. 10.26.01 - The Offspring Back In The Studio! The Offspring have just finished recording a song titled, “Defy You“with producer Brendan O‘Brien for the upcoming movie “Orange County”. The movie (produced by MTV Films) stars Colin Hanks (Tom Hank‘s son) as a student who deals with a series of misadventures after a mishap involving his college application. The film, due out this January, also features Jack Black, Catherine O‘Hara, Lily Tomlin, Harold Ramis, and John Lithgow. The song, Defy You, will be released in early December and the band will be shooting a video for the song in early November. 0718.01 - The Offspring and others invade the Inland Empire! On August 25, the 909 area code will never be the same as The KROQ/Levi‘s Inland Invasion takes over Blockbuster Pavilion in Devore, with: The Offspring Incubus Long Beach Dub Allstars Pennywise Social Distortion Weezer Plus special guests Mike D and Mixmaster Mike on the one‘s and two‘s. The side stage will feature: Adema, Cold, Drowning Pool, and Puddle Of Mudd Tickets go on sale Saturday at noon at Ticketmaster outlets, Charge-By-Phone, Ticketmaster.com and fee-free at the Blockbuster Pavilion box office. Tickets are $36 plus service fees. Parking is included. Wristband rules will apply at Ticketmaster outlets and the Blockbuster box office (No line-ups before 10am, random numbered wrist bands distributed at 11am.) Keep listening to KROQ to score your free tickets. 07.02.01 - Million Miles Away Single Now In Stores! The new Offspring single “Million Miles Away“ is now available in the UK. Two CD versions of the single have been released along with a cassette version. The first version of the CD single contains a live version of “Staring At The Sun“ along with a cover song of AC/DC‘s “Sin City“. The first CD single also contains a video of “Million Miles Away“ composed of live footage shot in the UK. The second CD single released contains live versions of “Dammit, I Changed Again“ and “Bad Habit”. A fold out poster of the band is also incuded in this single. 05.18.01 - The Offspring play KROQ's Punk Rock Prom at Magic Mountain! The Offspring performed with Weezer at KROQ‘s Punk Rock Prom at Magic Mountain near Los Angeles last night and had a few surprises. The band did two shows, one for Fountain Valley High and one for Simi Valley High. Decked out in ‘70‘s era tuxedos, the band were joined by Rob Schneider who performed the ‘You Can Do It!‘ part in Original Prankster that was originally inspired by that line of his in the movie ‘The Waterboy‘. As it was prom, the band also decided to do a slow song since they don‘t really have any slow songs they decided to cover ‘Babe‘ by Styx during which Rob Schneider and Guy ‘Pretty Fly For A White Guy‘ Cohen handpicked girls from the audience for an on-stage slow dance. 04.01.01 - The Offspring in Crazy Taxi 2! Everyone seemed to love The Offspring songs in the video game Crazy Taxi, so the band have decided to give a bunch of songs to Crazy Taxi 2. You‘ll hear bits of Americana, No Brakes, Walla Walla, Come Out Swinging and One Fine Day in the new game, which comes out this summer. The Offspring‘s Want You Bad is featured in the film‘s opening sequence. The film stars Jerry O‘Connell, Shannon Elizabeth, Jake Busey, Horatio Sanz & Jaime Pressly. The Offspring will play a unique one-off gig with AC/DC at The National Bowl, Milton Keynes on June 8, 2001. 01.18.01 - Kerrang and Guitar World This month The Offspring are featured on the covers of Kerrang and Guitar World magazines. You can pick up copies at your latest news stand. Both magazines include feature articles about the band. 01.05.01 - The New Video - Want You Bad! The Offspring are set to film a video for Want You Bad in Los Angeles on January 10th and 11th. It will be directed by 24 year-old Spencer Susser, who has directed music videos for Crazytown, Rahzel and Detroit Grand Pubahs and edited No Doubt‘s video for New. He has also directed commercials for ESPN2, The Library Of Congress and Nike and will also be working on a documentary on the ‘making of‘ the next Star Wars movie for George Lucas. |
